Aboriginal Alcohol & Drug Worker Program
The goal of the AADWP is to assist Aboriginal people in addressing their alcohol/drug issues and preventing or minimizing the negative effects of addiction for the individual, their families and the community.
The AADWP is designated as an assessment, referral and support program for Aboriginal people desiring to improve their quality of life by moving away from addiction lifestyles.
The AADWP supports the indigenous members of our community with applications to mainstream and indigenous treatment programs, and provides recovery planning and
after care support to those returning from treatment.
The AADWP worker also provides advocacy and support with other local, regional and provincial mainstream and indigenous support agencies to ensure that the social determinants of health are obtained and sustained./drug issues and preventing or minimizing the negative effects of addiction for the individual, their families and the community.
