Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living Program (UAHL)


Designed to increase participation in sports, physical fitness and provide nutrition and smoking prevention, supports for healthier living amongst Urban Aboriginal people.

The intent of the UAHL program is to improve the overall holistic health and well-being of urban Aboriginal people, many as preventive measures to reduce risk of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. This program is community based and activities are to be available during the day, night, and weekends. Although nutrition is a large component of this program, UAHL recognize that there are many aspects of life that create a healthy lifestyle and may incorporate different activities and programs that suit the community needs of urban Aboriginal people to enhance all areas of health.
