Language - Kén:tho tsi Kateweyénhstha -I Study Here (Mohawk)
The Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre is proud to announce the continuation of The Seven Generations Rekindling The Fire Language Program: Kén:tho tsi Kateweyénhstha (I study here). The Language Program is funded by First Nations Confederacy of Cultural and Education Centres and Canadian Heritage. Additional program funding for video recordings is from National Indian Brotherhood.
The Indigenous Language Learning Schedule will be starting in January 2022 with the following languages (via ZOOM):

Kanyen'kéha (Mohawk)

On^yonta'a:ka (Oneida)

Onoñda’gega’ (Onondaga)

Gayogǫho:nǫˀ (Cayuga)

Onöndowa'ga:' (Seneca)

Skarù·rę’ (Tuscarora)
Additionally, and in recognition of United Nations Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032, the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre will also be hosting ZOOM meetings with Indigenous Languages Speakers from all across Turtle Island. There are between 60 and 90 Indigenous Languages and dialects in Canada and the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre will be connecting with as many of our fellow brother and sister Nations as possible to showcase these Indigenous Languages.
