Mental Health & Wellness Program

Mino Biimadiziwin_edited.jpg

The Indigenous Mental Health and Wellness Program was developed by the OFIFC as part of the Open Minds, Healthy Minds Strategy. The IMHWP provides wholistic and culture-based supports to be responsive to the needs of mental health and addictions for urban Indigenous individuals and families, with a focus on trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches. IMHWP workers deliver individual and group services including peer counselling, sharing circles and other traditional and land-based activities that support the achievement of a Good Mind.

At the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre we have Multiple Mental Health & Wellness Program Coordinators who offer different varieties to the Community.
